FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Answers to your most frequently asked questions:
Working With Us
Q: Why do I need a specialist to remove our tank? Can’t any contractor perform the job?
A: For this type of job, you want someone with the right experience, training, insurance, and equipment. We are experts in this field – in fact, it’s the only type of work we do. Plus, we are an NYSDEC (New York State Department of Environmental Conservation) approved contractor for site remediation.
Q: Who will I be working with?
A: You will be working directly with members of our management team. Site inspections are performed by our company’s owner, Paul Stuart, or our office manager, Sherri Sullivan. Paul is present on every job site, from start to finish.
Q: How much do you charge for an install, abandonment, or removal?
A: The costs depend on several factors, and each job is unique. We offer a free local site visit to meet with you and review your project. Our estimates are accurate 99% of the time, because our experience allows us to foresee any scenario.
Q: How soon can you start my project?
A: The permit process will dictate our start time. Upon receiving the permit, we can usually begin in 7-10 business days.
Q: Do you require a deposit? Do you accept credit cards? Do you offer payment plans?
A: Typically we ask for payment when the project is done. We accept Master Card or Visa. We will work with our customers on a payment plan if necessary.

A: Yes, we work with many different real estate firms, and can accommodate the tight timelines associated with the sale or purchase of a home.

Q: What are the chances of my current underground oil tank leaking?
A: It depends on how your tank was installed, and if it was installed properly. We find that half of all underground tanks eventually start to leak.
Q: Will you install a new tank underground?
A: Yes, as long as your local town or village allows it, and the tank is compliant for burial.
Q: If the tank is leaking can you remediate the site?
A: Yes, we are certified to handle this process. See the Site Remediation page for more information.
Q: Do you restore the site upon completion?
A: Typically we will rake out the disturbed lawn area. We can additionally provide top soil, seed, and straw to encourage new grass growth. We can remove and re-plant shrubs, but can’t guarantee their survival. If the tank is under a cement patio, we can remove and replace it.
